Windhoek

After the course in Johannesburg, we headed straight to the airport and flew to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Namibia is sparsely populated, with only 3 inhabitants per square kilometer (for comparison: the Netherlands has 508 inhabitants per square kilometer). Namibia is approximately 20 times the size of the Netherlands.

Upon arrival at Windhoek airport, we were greeted by our guide, Jonathan, from the Omaanda Reserve. We stayed there for two nights and embarked on our first game drives. Despite the bumpy roads causing discomfort due to my back issues, it was definitely worth it for the stunning sights we encountered.

The facilities and food at all our accommodations were excellent. Each resort even had a swimming pool, although we didn't take advantage of it.
